You might not think about it when you come to my office (or any small business for that matter), but every single one of you matters when it comes to keeping my doors open to take care of you and serve you. Every day I am thankful for the opportunity to do a job I love and make a living to support my family. But here's the thing...I need your help.
I can't help but be earnest and authentic when it comes to how I do my job and how I run my business and take care of people. So, one of the hardest things for me is to play the "marketing game" - how you have to brand, market and promote yourself if you want to keep your business at the top of google searches for "overland park dentist" and compete to be able to get new patients among a sea of dentists in my area. For any small business to stay open and meet the needs of it's patients/customers/clients, it needs to continue to grow. As much as I don't like it, the reality is that there is some level of attrition and new patients are essential to make up for that. That means that I have to attract new patients somehow! But, it's just not me to be such a shameless self promoter. I gotta tell you, it feels just a little...ummm, slimy...to me. But I get it...and I play the game...because it's what helps me to keep doing the job I love. It's really simple - I just want to do really good dentistry and take care of people the way they deserve. I wish I didn't have to know about "search engine optimization" and "online reputation" and "google juice." Sheesh. I just want to make your mouth healthy and your smile beautiful and make your experience at the dentist the best it can be. So, I am just going to ask you all for what I need so I can keep doing what I love to do...taking care of you all! And hopefully, if you think I am doing a good job at that, you will be willing to share your experiences. Can you all do me a huge favor and just share my name with your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers? And because we do live in a world where social media has replaced yellow pages and many other forms of advertising, can you "like" my facebook page, follow me on twitter, and visit my website every once in a while? Can you google my name and click "write a review" and take 30 seconds to write a little diddy about our office? When you get the email after your visit asking to write a review, will you click on it and do it, if you feel so inclined? In some strange internet magic way, this keeps my business up and running so I get to take care of you all! In return, not only do I promise to take really good care of the people you lovingly entrust to me...but I also want you to feel my grattitude with a $25 gift card to another local favorite small business (we have a few to choose from) or a $25 credit to your account here. See, I CAN play the marketing game...but it's really just because you do deserve to be thanked if you take the time to share my name. We sometimes even do a little give-away if you take the time to help me promote my little dental office with your facebook likes and google reviews. And I read every single review and greatly appreciate the time you took to write it. So know that if you take the time to let us know how we are doing, we take it heart and use that information to affirm that we are doing well, or make changes when necessary. Right now...as I write this...the Royals just finished Game 4 against the Astros and came back for an AMAZING win to tie the series! So, there is no time like the present to take part in our "KC Makes Us Smile" give away! So...please, just share the love and I will share it right back! If you don't start clicking and sharing, I will be forced to guilt you into it- so go start clicking away right now! BIG, BIG THANK YOU!!! -Ali Jones
