DEXIS Digital X-rays offer very low dose radiation and great diagnostic quality for early detection of cavities and other oral concerns. Dr. Jones likes them because the images appear in your e-chart immediately to evaluate. The enlarged images are easy for patients see and understand. Every patient is placed under a leaded apron with thyroid collar. This adds additional protection from the low levels of radiation exposure.
We recommend taking a set of bitewing x-rays once per year. Full Mouth Series x-rays are taken once every 3-5 years (depending on benefits plan). A Full Mouth Series consist of taking one set of bitewings, along with 14 additional x-rays of every tooth.
