"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." -Winston Churchill
*Dr. Jones will be doing free seminars once per month at Babies 'R Us in Overland Park starting in February 2014. She will be talking to expecting parents and parents of young children about the importance of oral health and the connection between parents and children. Dr. Jones is passionate about children having a great first dental experience and a lifetime of healthy choices. Please call our office for more information. 913-491-0077
*Thank you for making our Harvesters Food Drives such a great success! Our Fall 2011 patients donated over 2 barrels full of non-perishable food items! We could have not reached our goal without the help from our generous patients. We are setting our goal higher in future years to provide even more meals to our KC Community.
*February is National Children's Dental Health Month. We spent time offering education to parents and children on proper dental care. Most importantly, on Friday, February 5th, 2010, we hosted a "Give Kids A Smile" event at our office to offer free dental care (exams, cleanings, education and basic restorative care) to low income children who don't normally have good access to regular dental care. "Give Kids A Smile" is an annual event sponsored by the American Dental Association and you can find more information on this event at the ADA website: www.ADA.org
*We feel that access to quality dental care is necessary to everyone, so we work with Wy/Jo Care to help provide free dental care to patients who would not normally have access to care. Wy/Jo Care connects low income, uninsured families from Johnson and Wyandotte Counties with physicians and dentists who are willing to provide specialty care at no cost for qualified patients in need. We are very proud to be a part of this program. For more information on this program, please visit their website at: http://www.msjwc.org/care.html
*Dr. Jones and her family are active supporters of Ronald McDonald House Charities. UMKC Dental School is across the street from RMH and Dr. Jones spent plenty of time there helping out and cooking meals for residents while she was a student. She continues to support this wonderful organization as a "Friend of the House." Dr. Jones's kids are "Fun Friends," which gets the little ones involved by doing special projects for the children and families that live in RMH. Visit www.ronaldmcdonaldhouse.com for more information in how you can support this charity too. It is a really fun way to be involved in your community and get your kids involved too!
*We have several patients that battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Therefore, we support the MS Bike 150 in hopes that the money and awareness that is raised can find a cure for those that suffer with this debilitating disease. You may occasionally see some cyclists riding around KC in cycling jerseys with Dr. Jones' name on them...they are from an MS 150 teams that supports one of our patients.
