Alison Jones, D.D.S.Dr. Alison Jones grew up in Michigan and moved to the Kansas City area with her family in 1997 and fell in love with this area. She attended Kansas State University and graduated with a degree in Biology. She went on to attend UMKC School of Dentistry and graduated in 2006 with her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. While in dental school, Dr. Jones was the class treasurer for all 4 years, a member and leader in the dental fraternity "Psi Omega", and an active participant in many other dental and service groups and activities throughout her time at UMKC. Dr. Jones is so proud to call Kansas City home and to be able to live and work in this community.
Dr. Jones became an associate dentist in 2006, and then purchased this practice at the end of 2008 when the previous dentist retired. We have some families with 3 and even 4 generations that see us! We are so proud of the family atmosphere that this practice maintains. Each person that works at this office puts a high value on their own families, which translates to our work life....we enjoy treating each other and our patients like extended family. Outside of the office, family life takes center stage for Dr. Jones with her husband and 4 kids. She is a very proud Mom to two boys and two girls - ages 18, 16 , 13 and 11, whom you can imagine keep her very busy and on her toes with all their school and athletic events. Dr. Jones' family enjoys spending down time together on the weekends and taking an occasional vacation. They love the beach, as well as going on adventures to visit new places and just enjoying life! In an effort to provide the very best to her patients, Dr. Jones works very hard to stay on top of the latest information and technology in dentistry. Continuing education is an essential part of her passion for dentistry and patient care. She is an active member of two dental study clubs that meet regularly. Each study club brings in top speakers and educators in various subjects of dentistry. The study clubs also give local dentists an opportunity to meet and discuss treatment options and find the best possible treatment plans for complicated cases. In many cases, the local study clubs have the opportunity to travel and meet with other dentists nationwide to discuss and learn about the most recent information in treatment, technology, dental materials, business and team building and many other aspects of dentistry. She is a member of both the American Dental Association and the Kansas Dental Association. Sixty hours of continued education every two years is required to maintain a Kansas dental license, however Dr. Jones exceeds this requirement every year. You benefit as a patient because you can be assured that Dr. Jones is determined to stay current, and go above and beyond with continuing education in dentistry so that you receive the best treatment. Whether you need a simple filling or a complicated restorative or cosmetic treatment plan, you can be assured that you will receive exceptional dentistry and care from Dr. Jones and her whole team. Dr. Jones' philosophy for patient care - education, prevention and early intervention in a warm, caring, friendly atmosphere where YOU and YOUR choices matter. Most importantly, we want to give you the time and attention you deserve at every visit to our office. Dr. Jones and her staff see one patient at at time and will strive to make sure we are available to give you the quality care you deserve while educating you and answering your questions. We schedule a full hour for hygiene visits, so we can devote the necessary time and attention that you deserve for your cleaning and exam. If Dr. Jones feels that additional time is necessary to discuss more complex treatment, or provide you with more treatment options, we will be sure to find a time that works with your schedule to discuss all the details. She is passionate about educating patients about their smile and oral health, and believes that you should play an active role in your treatment decisions. Dr. Jones will put a lot of emphasis on regular recall visits which include cleanings, periodontal education and treatment, and thorough exams in which YOU are involved in knowing about your oral health. Maintaining your oral health by prevention, education, and early, conservative intervention will provide you years of comfort, health and a great smile. However, if and when more advanced restorative concerns need to be addressed, Dr. Jones will provide you with all the options and customized care that you need to restore your smile and confidence. |
